According to Stephen R. Covey, little kindness and courtesies are so important. In relationships, the little things are the big things.

Someone once said, love does not walk away, people do. I will add, and they take love with them. It is like taking it out of an old box, folding it carefully, packing into a bag and taking it away from you.

When you were a kid you had this perfect picture in your mind. The picture of how things will be. Of how they should be. When you were a kid you had all the answers. When, how, who? You knew it all. Once you grow up, you still have the picture but the answers are gone.

Someone once said “Never take someone for granted, hold every person close to your heart because you might wake up one day and realize that you have lost true diamond while you were too busy collecting stones”.

Sometimes… just really sometimes… you wonder what this other person is doing.
If they are thinking about you?
If they worry about you?

Ok, the knight in shining armor on a white horse might be a little bit overrated, but it still does the trick. He might wear old jeans and a washed up t-shirt though. We don’t mind. As long as he knows the basic structure of a fairytale.

He looked at her as she asked and could not really figure what her problem was. She was perfect. Her composed face reflected a quiet essence of maturity and confidence.

I love you, he whispered. She was sleeping and couldn’t reply but he knew she felt the same. He kissed her gently on her cheek and left the room casting one more glance at the sleeping angel. His angel.

What we forget is that life is not a fairytale, it is not a story book. It is not perfect. Love is not about romance only, it is much more about hard work. It is overcoming obstacles together, facing challenges together, fighting for each other (again together).

Every day is a battle. Every. Single. Day. It starts the moment you struggle yourself out of your bed in the morning and ends in the late evening when your seemingly restless mind finally gives up to sleeping.

Being far away from someone you love you worry more than usual, you care more than usual, you miss more than usual. Just because unlike many other people you can’t receive it or give it any moment you want to. And because the person you need most of all when you feel down can’t be always for you there.

We are so afraid that we are not good enough for people we love that we try to meet some expectations and be the ones we suppose they want us to see. And with time we get used to this image and believe that is the true “us”.

Trust is a dangerous thing. And it is such a great responsibility. Trust does not only mean being true to someone even when the whole world is against them, it is not only the belief that the other person will be there for you and catch you when you fall, it is not the faith in them or knowing they won’t betray or lie or cheat.
