Yesterday’s Letter
Sometimes we lose. We don’t want to but it happens. We can’t control it but it’s there. We cry about it but it is hardly within our powers to change anything. And then we break down.
A person who seemed unbreakable – breaks.
A person who seemed so strong – crumbles.
A person who always laughed it off – cries.
A person who would never stop trying – is about to give up and quit.
It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is if you don’t risk anything, you risk even more.
-Erica Jong, from How to Save Your Own Life
But if you risk and it does not work out? And you were ready to give them the world if they had given you the chance but the chance never happened to be? Is it worth risking when everything broke to million pieces, which cannot be collected back because it does not depend on you only?
But I don’t feel the same
My heart still beats for you,
Breathes for you,
Sings for you
And those feelings will never fade
I can hide my pain
But I can never hide the way I feel for you
People always say you should move on. It is never easy. There is always the thought what if it should be, what if it is my destiny, what if it is the only one, the RIGHT person.
And we do have hope they will be back. Because we love them, because feelings don’t fade so easily and it is tough to believe that a deep love we once shared is gone into nowhere.
You’re gonna realize
That this type of love
Happens once in your life
So open your eyes, girl
And see what we could be
Come back to me
We happen to get involved into several relationships throughout our life. And we manage to move on somehow. But when we believe it is THE person and then they are not there anymore then it hurts the most because you never really stop loving someone. You just learn to try to live without them. Sometimes successful and they call it moving on. Sometimes we fail.
Someone said once: “Someday someone might come into your life and love you the way you’ve always wanted. If your someday was yesterday, learn. If your someday is tomorrow, hope. If your someday is today, cherish”.
Because if you don’t, your today might become yesterday and there will be no tomorrow.
PS: Lyrics from 98 degrees “Yesterday’s Letter”… an awesome song
